They begin by talking about their inspiration for this episode. They recently went to NYC to see the Christmas lights with Anne’s Mom like they always do, and even though it is different this year, the spirit remains. That made Anne come up with the idea of having both of their Moms on the show to talk about holiday traditions they had growing up and how that have integrated them into their own family traditions with their own kids.  There is nothing like having your Mom talk about memories from Christmases past to make you nostalgic.

Next they chat with Anne’s Mom, Sue Steele. Hear about Anne as a little girl including stories about when her brother accidentally spread chicken pox to the entire line to see Santa, when Anne discovered her Mom was Santa via a Cabbage Patch doll, and their family traditions like dinner at The Copper Kettle and looking at holiday lights!

 

Finally they chat with Kelli’s Mom, Melanie Safer. Hear about childhood traditions that always included her grandparents and lots of cooking. Melanie always reads the Christmas story and that tradition holds true to this day. Plus the epic Strawberry cake that Moma Mack always made that will always be a tradition in their homes.
